EVA Theory and Traffic Lights

An EVA bond, is NOT love, is NOT romance, is NOT anything that would be considered chasing someone. It is a bond that is of a greater coverage than that. All of the above relations are a TYPE of EVA bond.

As I have mentioned before, we usually have EVA bonds between guy and girl. In the future, there will be EVA bonds between human and bots, but we are not there yet. When the day comes when cyborgs roam the streets (cyborgs, for those who dunno, are robots that can think for themselves, think like humans), then perhaps, EVA bonding between man and machine will be possible. In fact, this is exactly how the word EVA came about. The word EVA is borrowed from Command and Conquer series, and it originally stands for Electronic Video Agent. But all this is redundant for the present. For now, EVA bonds generally occur between guy and girl.

BGR is a special type of EVA bond. It is an EVA bond that is two way. Chasing is the one way counterpart. There are three types of EVA bonds, and telepathy is essential in all of them, before the bond can be used to channel thoughts. And unfortunately, it is the weakest of the three types of EVA bonds.

The three types of EVA bonds are confidantes, potentials (or some say targets), and intermediates. As their name suggest, the bonds are classified according to traffic light status. These three sets are actually isomorphic to the green, red and yellow of traffic light status. I emphasize further, that these three types of bonds NEED NOT BE TWO WAY. It only matters how YOU feel towards your partner.

Confidantes are platonic friends that are very close with each other. How close is close? My standard is close enough to lose temper with each other. That is to say, roughly speaking, close enough to be completely honest with each other. And these bonds give the strongest EVA bonds and the swiftest telepathy. For instance, look around Hall and you will notice a few very strong EVA pairs, some of them even closer than with their gf or bf in fact! But, the best and most descriptive example of a confidante EVA pair that comes out tops, is former bridge IVP captain Keng Piang and his partner Sharmagne. Nothing else needs to be said. Their telepathy at bridge is legendary.

Potentials are those friends that you are interested in romantically, roughly speaking, it means those friends that you are intending to chase. Not only are potentials the weakest of the three types of EVA bond, but the bond weakens further after getting together. This is the reason why I always advised couples to NOT partner each other in bridge, EVEN THOUGH it seems like a very "romantic" thing to do. Some couples do pull off good EVA bonds, like Gavin and Chennee and Zhengwen and Evelyn, among a few others, but not all do, most do not. And notice that these are the people who I tried to pull as bridge players. Bridge (and any other partnership game like dota, badminton etc), will strengthen their bond greatly. However, couples who are not EVA bonded, are going to break up over the bridge table. In general, I do not advise couples to partner each other.

Intermediates are a bit tricky. Intermediates are those friends that you are interested in, but not till the extent that you want to chase, at least not immediately. Intermediates are also the hardest to judge EVA bonds. In general, they are stronger than couples but weaker than platonics, but this is really very hard to say.

More research has to be done where intermediates are concerned. In fact, I only started using this word "intermediates" after I came across my first intermediate last July. Telepathy between intermediates is erratic and subject to great variance. On the other hand, intermediates also have the ability to control how much telepathy they want to give to each other. There are times when I really understand her and can really predict her reactions, predict those reactions that most other people will not be able to, but I can do it. There are also times when I really don't understand what she is thinking. It remains to be seen whether intermediates make good partners and whether these partnerships will harm their real life relationships or not.

But to do that, first of all more intermediates have to be located first.
